Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed at the end of artical.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Have you complied with the writing instructions for publication in the journal, are you sure? If you do not follow the instructions, we will return the manuscript to you.

Instructions for Authors 

  • The manuscript can be sent using Submission system in the Journal website, for more information, please click on the following link:

  • The manuscript is subject to the Turnitin plagiarism detection software before sending to reviewers. Allowable plagiarism percentage below 20 %.
  • The referenced facts adopted in the manuscript should not be taken from arbitrary Internet sites, but only those that rely on research published in international or local journals, books, dissertations, and
  • The research undertaking and submission request forms (available in the Download Supplement Section) should be completed formally and submitted before any action taken by the Journal.
  • Four files should be sent to the Journal when the author makes a new submission as follows:
  1. Article with names in docx/doc format.
  2. Article without names in docx/doc format.
  3. Declaration form in pdf format.
  4. Copyrights agreement in pdf format.

  • The amount of (50,000) Iraqi Dinars for publication fees will be paid after the submission process of the manuscript.
  • Submission fees are dropped for the first manuscript published for foreign authors.
  • The author must incorporate revisions required by referees within a maximum period of 45 days; however, final copy of the manuscript should be viewed and approved by the author within a maximum of seven days.
  • The author/s should declare if any, national or international organizations explicitly cover such fees for articles originated in funded research projects. If it is not announced by the author/s and if the grant authorities have a conflicting, in this case, the manuscript will be rejected in any step of the publishing process. If the paper was already published, in this case, the Journal marks on the paper by "retracted".
 
Publishing Instructions:
1. Manuscripts and articles must not exceed 20 pages including even the figures and tables.
2. Researcher (register /login) to the journal website and submits the following files
- Two copies of his manuscript (with and without names) according to the journal requirements and instructions.
- Declaration form have to be filled (Please, Download it from journal homepage).
- Copyright agreement have to be filled (Please, Download it from journal homepage).
3. The journal requirements and instructions are shown below (you can download journal template from the homepage):
a. Page layout: 3 cm from top and bottom, 2.25 cm from right and left. 
b. The research should be written in Times New Roman.
c. The first page must be dedicated only to the title, author/authors names, abstract, keywords, Arabic title and abstract. It must be written in a single column with single space between lines.
d. Title must be written in the middle of the page and in bold as an example:
Soil-Structure Interaction of Retaining Wall under Earthquake Loads
4. One line with the size of (14) is left below the title, where the name, the scientific title, place of work and the email of the author or authors are written centrally in bold and size (10).
5. The abstract is then written after leaving a single line with size (12), centered with size (12) as:
ABSTRACT
6. The abstract is written in size (12), and it includes a general view of the research, the problem, the aim, method of solution, the most significant results and conclusions, in not more than 200 words and size (12).
7. A line of size (12) is left, and after it, the keywords are written as Keywords, where 3 to 5 relevant keywords are written in size (12), as an example: 
Keywords: retaining wall, earthquake, etc.
8. A line of size (12) is left, and after it, the Arabic title is written in bold and size (14).
9. A line of size (14) is left, and after it, the names, the scientific title, place of work and without the emails are written in Arabic.
10. A line of size (1) is left to write:

11. The Arabic abstract is written in the same way as the English one.
12. The research is written in size (12), single space, lower case and in a single column.
13. The headlines are written in UPPERCASE, bold and size (12). It must be numbered using Arabic numbers, space is left after the number, and a line must be left before the headline. The headlines are written immediately after the left margin, as an example:

14. The subheadings are written in size (1), lowercase and bold with the first letter in uppercase. It must be numbered using Arabic numbers, space is left after the number, and a line must be left before the headline. The headlines are written immediately after the left margin, as an example:  
1.1 General Aspect
In case there is a paragraph in the subheadings, it must be written in lowercase, size (12) and with the starting letter of the first word in uppercase, as an example: 
1.1.1 Sample case analysis
15. It must be referred to an equation as Eq. (1) through the article. The equation must be written un Italic, with its number to the right of the equation with no ……. A line must be left before and after the equation. The equation must not be introduced as a picture, as an example:

16. References style adopted by the journal is Harvard style
The references should be referred to through the research in Bold. The last name and the year is given, as an example: Duprez, 2007
For two: Duprez and Dumont, 2007
For more than that:  Duprez, et al., 2007
17. The references must be gathered at the end of the research in alphabetical form with a line before and after each reference. As an example:
Duprez, M. E., 2007, Modeling of Reciprocating and Scroll Compressors, International Journal of Refrigeration, vol.30, No.5, PP. 873-886.
Or: 
Duprez, M. E., and Dumont, E. S., 2010, Modeling of Reciprocating and Scroll Compressors, International Journal of Refrigeration, Vol. 40, No. 3, PP. 150-170.

18. The list of nomenclature is introduced after that are used after that, where it must be started with Latin characters, then Greek ones in lowercase with units, as an example:
NOMENCLATURE;
A= area, m2.
β =factor of variation, dimensionless.
19. The tables and figures are introduced at the end of the research after the nomenclature. No photos of the tables are allowed.
20. The title of the figure is centered, in size (12) and lowercase with the first letter of the first word in uppercase. The figure and its number are referred to in bold. As an example: 
 Figure 5. Groundwater pressure on the retaining wall.
Through the research, the figure is referred to as: 
It is clear from Fig. 5 that the behavior…..
21. The table and its number are referred to in bold, and size (12). Its title must be written in lowercase with the first letter in uppercase. It must be written in the left margin and at the top of the table, as an example:

22.  The author is entirely responsible for the research and its contents.
23. The Journal has the rights to publish and print the researches

Revisions

Authors who receive a decision of Minor Revision or Major Revision have 45 days to resubmit the revised manuscript.
